Employment Exploration, Employment Development and Employment Support are Minnesota waiver services. You can use one, two or all three, in order or on their own.

- Work experiences in community businesses
- Career interests and skills discovery
- One-on-one coaching and mentoring

For people ready to look for a job. We learn your strengths, build your resume, practice interviews and search for jobs with you until you are hired.

How to start
- Tell your case manager you want to work and ask for Peace of Mind Care Center.
- Your case manager sends us a referral online, by fax or by email.
- We meet you, set goals together and begin once services are authorized.
For case managers
Add Employment Exploration, Employment Development or Employment Support to the support plan and send us the referral. We confirm receipt and contact you to schedule intake.
If VRS is closed or waitlisted, Employment Development can be authorized through the waiver. Include the VRS ineligibility or closed priority category letter with the referral.
Questions about employment services
Do I have to do all three services?
No. Many people start with the service that fits where they are now. Your case manager and our team decide together what makes sense.
What kinds of jobs?
Jobs in the community that match your interests and strengths, with regular pay alongside coworkers. We explore options with you rather than placing you in a set job.
Can I keep my benefits if I work?
Many people can. Ask your case manager about a benefits planning session before you start working so you know how income affects your benefits.
How long does it take to start?
It depends on when your support plan is updated and services are authorized. We contact you after we receive the referral and keep you and your case manager updated.
