Getting a job, one step at a time
Our employment services work together. Start where the person is today: some people begin by exploring, others are ready to apply, and some already have a job and need support to keep it.
Explore
Try real work in the community, find out what you enjoy and what you are good at, and choose a direction.
Develop
Build a resume, practice interviews and search for jobs together until you are hired.
For case managers: referring takes three minutes
- Send one referral online, by fax to 612-545-5459, or by email. Check every service the person needs.
- We contact you and the person to set up an intake meeting.
- Services start once the support plan and authorization are in place.
Waiting on VRS? If Vocational Rehabilitation Services is closed or has a waitlist, Employment Development can be authorized through the waiver with the VRS letter.
Common questions
Who can get services?
Adults 18 and older on the CADI, DD, BI or CAC waiver. Ask your case manager to add the services you want to your support plan and to choose Peace of Mind Care Center.
Can one person use more than one service?
Yes. For example, someone can work with a job coach during the week and get support at home. Each service needs to be authorized in the support plan, and one referral to us can cover all of them.
What if I am waiting on Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS)?
If VRS cannot serve you right now because it is closed or has a waitlist, your case manager can authorize Employment Development through your waiver. We can start then.
I do not have a waiver yet. What do I do?
If you live in Hennepin County, call Hennepin County Front Door at 612-348-4111 and ask for an assessment. Disability Hub MN can also help at 1-866-333-2466.
How are services paid for?
Most people use their waiver once services are authorized in their support plan. We also accept private pay. Call us to talk about your situation.
Where are you located?
We are at 2518 2nd Street North, Suite 116, Minneapolis, MN 55411, in North Minneapolis. In-home support and employment services happen in the community and in people’s homes.
